LatestJune 13, 2026
- Fixed a bug where changing text fonts could fail.
- More reliable batch processing with durable journals, rolling item windows, item-level retry, and safer progress tracking.
- Better output handling: generated results are preserved, reused when possible, and saved into the requested folder with stable names.
- Safer Photoshop execution with serialized host writes, cleaner document lifecycle handling, and sanitized document names.
- Release packaging now uses the Adobe UXP Developer Tool generated .ccx, reducing install/package compatibility risk.

v2.0.0
June 1, 2026
InpaintKit 2.0 is a major redesign of the Photoshop plugin. This release adds a new AI-agent workflow that can automate multi-step Photoshop tasks, manage multiple generation jobs at the same time, and keep long-running creative work moving without blocking the whole plugin.
Compared with v1, v2 is built for heavier production use: batch-style generation, parallel AI work, smarter task orchestration, and a cleaner foundation for future automation features.
v1.7.1
LatestJune 1, 2026
Fixes
- Fixed GPT Image 2 generation on very large Photoshop canvases.
- Avoided uploading fully transparent canvas captures to ChatGPT.
- Downsampled GPT Image 2 source uploads before sending them to the model.
- Fixed placement of large generated results without creating huge in-plugin pixel buffers.
- Fixed a Photoshop encoding failure when selected pixels included alpha.
Notes
- This is a focused GPT Image 2 bugfix release for the 1.7 line.
- Reload or reinstall the plugin package after updating.
v1.7.0
April 29, 2026
Highlights
- Added GPT Image 2 support through ChatGPT OAuth, using ChatGPT subscription authentication instead of an OpenAI Platform API key.
- Added a ChatGPT sign-in flow in Settings with device-code authorization, token polling, and plugin-local auth storage.
- Added GPT Image 2 generation for selected Photoshop areas with optional reference images and automatic placement back into the document.
- Updated Settings so choosing GPT Image 2 selects the ChatGPT OAuth provider automatically.
- Refined the About dialog copy with the current InpaintKit brand intro.
Notes
- GPT Image 2 generation uses the ChatGPT Codex backend and may take about 120-150 seconds depending on backend load and prompt complexity.
v1.6.0
April 2, 2026
- Added fal.ai provider support for inpainting workflows.
v1.5.1
March 30, 2026
InpaintKit v1.5.1 fixes Seedream 4.5 generation failures caused by outdated sizing parameters. This release adds automatic 2K/4K output selection for Seedream 4.5 based on processed input size and improves result placement by resizing generated output back to the original Photoshop bounds.
How We Ship
- Ship small, continuous updates that feel as quick as a keyboard shortcut.
- Verify changes against real client files from our own studio before release.
- Keep you in control: non‑destructive layers, predictable results, and transparent model choices.
We built InpaintKit for our own daily use at Turned Ninja. If a change doesn't make us faster in Photoshop, it doesn't ship.
Roadmap
Now
Enhance Details high‑res pipeline; portrait & cleanup presets; model switcher polish with per‑model defaults; subtle color harmonization improvements; clearer progress & error messages.
Next
Multi‑mask/batch queue; project‑level API key profiles for teams; advanced blending controls for tricky edges and hair; keyboard shortcuts and improved undo/redo integration; broader Photoshop version support (as low as feasible).
Later
Revision history inside the panel; shared presets; deeper round‑trips with Lightroom/Capture One; smarter defaults by category (product, portrait, environment).
