About InpaintKit
Hey friend! I'm Tom 👋
We're artists at Turned Ninja who spend long hours inside Photoshop. We built InpaintKit for ourselves first - a fast, dependable way to try the latest AI image models without breaking our layers, masks, or flow. It made our team faster, friends started asking for it, and now we're opening it up to you.
Why the name InpaintKit?
Inpainting is the craft of filling or replacing parts of an image. "Kit" felt right - a simple, pragmatic set of tools you can reach for when Generative Fill struggles or when you want newer models. Nothing fancy, just the essentials that work.
Built for our daily use
We use InpaintKit on real client files and personal projects. If it doesn't help us finish work faster - with clean layers and predictable results - it doesn't ship. That means:
- Non-destructive by default: results on new layers
- Keyboard-quick workflow: selection → prompt → generate
- Bring-your-own provider: run models via your API key
What is InpaintKit?
A Photoshop companion that lets you:
- Try modern AI models (like Google Nano Banana and Bytedance Seedream 4, provider-dependent)
- Keep your Generative Fill workflow intact
- Run edits via your own API key (Replicate supported; fal.ai planned)
- Use prompts when you need them - or leave blank for simple removals
- Lightly harmonize color/tones to blend results with your scene
Why we built it
We're not anti‑AI; we believe in adopting it with a human touch. The point isn't to replace artists - it's to remove the boring parts so you can focus on taste, direction, and finish. Tools should feel invisible when you're in the zone.
What's next
- fal.ai support with first‑class UX
- Higher‑resolution paths and an Enhance Details pipeline
- Broader Photoshop version support (as low as feasible)
- More model options and smarter defaults tuned for retouching
Who's on the team?
It's me (Tom) and a small crew of artists‑turned‑developers at Turned Ninja. We prototype fast, ship small improvements often, and verify changes against real files before release.
